The library is requesting an increase of $26,364 from school district voters on May 17th. This is an increase of 7% over last year’s request. This increase would make the tax rate for the library about 89 cents ($0.89) per thousand of assessed value. The total local public funding would be $402,992. The library’s total budget for 2022 is $522,572.
Someone whose house is assessed at $120,000 will see a total increase of about $6.97 in their annual bill on the library tax line. The total they pay toward the library will be about $106 per year. Someone with an $85,000 assessment will pay around $75.43 per year for the library under the increased rate, an increase of about $4.93 over last year.
