Fireworks have nothing on the spectacular blooms of a North Country flower garden in summer! I have enjoyed watching crocuses and violets give way to lilies of the valley and daffodils, which faded to make room for the iris, peonies, and lupines. Right now our gardens are a riot of flox, hydrangeas, daisies, brown-eyed Susans, hostas, and coneflowers!
Are you also fascinated by flowers? Do you enjoy blooms for their colors and variety, or do you plant specifically to attract pollinators or hummingbirds? We have plenty of resources for you at CFL – come on in and check them out! (While you’re here – take a peek at the landscaping around the building that the Obrosky family and other friends have done and maintained for us – it’s beautiful, and the blooms are spectacular!)

Upgrade to Libby.
In early 2023, the OverDrive app will be discontinued. We encourage you to make the switch to Libby, our newer reading app. Libby is made by the same people, with the same goal of connecting you to your library and to your favorite books, audiobooks, and magazines.
Download Libby or visit libbyapp.com to get started.
Why is this happening now?
North Country Library System launched the Libby app in 2017, with the goal of creating a simple and intuitive library app that builds on the core experience from the OverDrive app. They closely reviewed what was working with the OverDrive app and what could be improved. During this time, they didn’t want to interrupt the experience for users, so the two apps have both been available.
Thanks to feedback from librarians and readers like you, Libby is now a great app for everyone and there’s no longer a reason to have two apps that do the same thing. If you’ve enjoyed using the OverDrive app, we really hope you’ll love Libby.
Anime Club happens on Thursdays, 5pm-7pm. Contact Zach for more information at zwoodleywhite@ncls.org.
CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS: Our 2022 children’s Summer Library Program has come to a close in terms of programs and Storywalks, but keep recording time spent reading until September 1st on your reading records (available in the children’s room) and then return them to the Children’s Room for a prize! Thanks to all who attended our first Storytimes in over 2 years! It was SO GOOD to have you back! Look for details in the next few weeks about our fall children’s programming, which will start up after school begins.
Thanks to all who used the QR code and did the quick 3-question survey after doing the Storywalks at the Partridge Trail. It’s so interesting and helpful to see how many people view the installations!
